    I was recently in very back car accident in which the person at fault had Direct General insurance and I want to share the horrible experience I endured while dealing with this company. The day after my accident occurred Tamara Tucker called me and at first she seemed nice. She wanted to take my Equinox to one of their "preferred" storage facilities and threatened that Direct General wouldn't pay storage fees after that day (my Equinox had to be towed to a junk yard) and that she (Tamara) wanted my permission to take my Equinox. Where would they be taking it? Tamara wouldn't tell me. She got the tow truck driver on the phone and he started asking questions about where my Equinox would be going and what they would be doing with it and their conversation got heated very quickly. The tow driver (Allen) started telling me to not let them take my Equinox because they would take it to Mobile or Tallahassee (would not tell me where), put a value on it and if I didn't take their value then I was responsible for trying to find out how to get it back to my house (3-4 hours away). Tamara started yelling at Allen, threatening that they won't be paying storage fees and ended up hanging up on him. She then turned on me and started threatening me if I didn't let them take my Equinox they won't pay and she ended up hanging up on me too. Luckily I had Allstate and I had them fight Direct General for me but apparently even though the other driver was completely at fault, Direct General doesn't want to pay their claim and is causing so much trouble for Allstate and myself. This company is unprofessional, rude and Tamara Tucker was absolutely horrible to us. Apparently if Direct General has a negligent driver as a client who thinks it's wise to pull out into the middle of a busy road with cars coming and stop completely then Direct General doesn't feel it's necessary to pay their claim. This accident was awful for me and thank God my car held up and thank god I had people like Allen looking out for me because I would have been completely screwed if I had let Tamara take my Equinox. Stay away from this insurance company. I really hope others don't have horrible experiences with these guys the way I did. I will be telling everyone I know, forever, about this horrible company.
